Our aim is to reach the highest standards of excellence but our bedrock is our community. Our Pro Bono activity is taken forth with the same standards we apply to clients' work.
We provide free legal assistance to charity institutions that work in the social, cultural or educational areas. Through it we provide better access to justice and quality legal services to institutions that otherwise would not be able to afford them.
We are the first major Portuguese law firm to create a Pro Bono and Corporate Social Responsibility Programme (CSR), with:
- the adoption of a formal Pro Bono and CSR Policy for which an annual budget is set aside, comprising a set financial contribution and a minimum number of hours devoted to Pro Bono and CSR activities by VdA staff members
- the approval of a Pro Bono and CSR Programme, setting objectives for the coming year under a clear assessment matrix
- a Pro Bono committee with the task of defining the Pro Bono and CSR programmes and the execution of Pro Bono and CSR at VdA
With our CSR, we aim to develop our staff individual goals as citizens and to contribute to a working environment based on the three-pronged values of solidarity, mutual help and sharing and to extend it to our community.
